Sterling Schmeltz has extensive work experience in engineering and management roles. Sterling is currently the Vice President of Engineering at Vac-Con, Inc. Starting in 2022, they are responsible for leading the engineering team. Prior to this, from 2012 to 2022, Sterling worked at E-one where they held multiple roles, including Chassis and Body Engineering Manager and Chassis Engineering Manager. In these positions, they managed a diverse team of designers and engineers, overseeing the design of custom fire truck chassis. Sterling implemented Lean Product Development techniques which resulted in increased throughput, reduced errors, and decreased manpower. Before joining E-one, Sterling worked at Ford Motor Company as the Global Commodity Business Planning Engineering Team Lead from 2010 to 2012 and as an Engineer VAVE from 2006 to 2008.
Sterling Schmeltz completed their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Florida from 1999 to 2004. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Engineering Management at the University of Michigan from 2006 to 2008.
