Yaling Zhu

Yaling Zhu has a diverse work experience in polymer chemistry. Most recently, they are the Head of Polymer Chemistry at Vaccitech since December 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Avidea Technologies as a Senior Polymer Chemist from June 2017 to December 2021. Before that, they held positions at George Mason University, where they were a Research Assistant Professor from April 2016 to June 2017 and a Postdoctoral Fellow from December 2013 to March 2016. Yaling Zhu's earliest work experience was as a Graduate Student at the University of Southern Mississippi from August 2006 to May 2012, where they focused on research projects related to initiators for block and star polymers. Yaling began their career as an Undergraduate Student at Peking University from September 2002 to July 2006, where they conducted research on synthesizing polysoaps for solubilizing nanotubes.

Yaling Zhu completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at Peking University from 2002 to 2006. They then pursued further education, earning a Ph.D. in Polymer Science from The University of Southern Mississippi from 2006 to 2012. During their doctoral study, from 2008 to 2009, they also obtained a Minor in Technology Commercialization from the same institution.
