Bart Hosmer

Executive Director, Culinary Operations at VAI Resort

Bart Hosmer has a diverse and extensive work experience in the culinary industry. Bart currently holds the position of Executive Director of Culinary Operations at VAI Resort, a position they started in October 2023. Prior to this, Bart was the Managing Partner at LJ Trope & Co. from January 2022 until October 2023. Bart also founded and acted as CEO of Backburner Hospitality Group from 2018 to 2023. Bart has held various leadership roles at Marriott International, including Senior Director of Food & Beverage and Corporate Chef for the Americas from 2013 to 2018, and Senior Director of Culinary for the Americas from 2011 to 2013. Before that, they worked as the Director of Culinary Development at Marriott International from 2007 to 2011. Bart also gained experience as an Executive Chef at Parcel 104, Santa Clara Marriott from 2001 to 2007, and as a Specialty Chef at Walt Disney World from 1996 to 2000.

Bart Hosmer holds an Associate of Science - AS degree in Hotel & Restaurant Administration | Culinary Arts from City College of San Francisco. Bart attended Washington State University from 1988 to 1989, studying Hotel & Restaurant Hospitality | Administration. Additionally, Bart obtained a Level 1 certification from The Court of Master Sommeliers in 2001.
