Lisa Herota

Lisa Herota is the current Senior Director of Compliance & Privacy at Vail Health. Prior to their current position, Lisa served as the Regional HIM Director overseeing Northern Nevada Medical Center, West Hills Hospital and Willow Springs Center from October 2013 to July 2017. Lisa has also been the Health Information Management Director at West Hills Hospital from July 2012 to October 2013 where they were responsible for oversight of the Health Information Management department.

Lisa has experience with regulations and accreditation standards, knowledge of specific state and federal requirements and standards related to the management of health information. Lisa also has expertise in healthcare compliance: knowledge of privacy and security regulations, confidentiality, laws, access and release of information practices. Lisa has been actively involved in various committees such as the Medical Staff/Medical records Committee, hospital-wide Performance Improvement committee and Documentation Improvement Committee (Forms).

Lisa has developed departmental services through ongoing planning which is consistent with the organization's mission, vision and values as well as the organizational objectives outlined in the strategic plan. Lisa has also established, coordinated, and communicated departmental objectives and goals as well as organizational goals. Lastly, Lisa has prepared and utilized the annual operating budget for the Health Information Management Department and capital expense requests.

Lisa Herota has a Master of Science in Health/Health Care Administration/Management - Informatics from Colorado Technical University, a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Administration from University of Cincinnati, and Associate of Science degrees in both Health Information Technology from Santa Barbara City College and Biology from Yuba College.

Lisa Herota works with Daniel L. Pennington - Chief External Affairs Officer & President of Vail Health Foundation, David Kaplan - President, Colorado Mountain Medical, and Barry Hammaker - Chief Medical Officer. Lisa Herota reports to Will Cook, President & CEO.
