Juha Pomppu

Juha Pomppu has over two decades of work experience in the field of quality assurance and testing. Juha'smost recent position is with Vala as the Lead of QA Services & Solutions, starting in January 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Nortal Finland as the QA Lead for eHealth from 2019 to 2022, where they were responsible for QMS development and internal audits. Juha also served as the Conference Manager for FiSTB Testing Assembly Conference for four years, starting in 2017, and was involved in planning and coordinating the yearly testing event. In their role at Comiq from 2017 to 2018, they focused on service and solution development for quality assurance, sales, and training for internal QA professionals. At Symbio, Juha held various positions such as QA Director, QA Technology Chief, and Test Manager between 2007 and 2017. Juha also previously worked at Varian Medical Systems Finland and Nokia Telecommunications as a SQE Team Manager and Software Tester, respectively. Juha's career began in 1997 as a Web Designer at Suomen Valokuvataiteen Museo.

Juha Pomppu earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Helia, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. In addition to their degree, Juha has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2008, they obtained the ISTQB/ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. In 2009, they earned the ISEB Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing from the same institution. In 2011, Juha obtained the ISTQB Advanced Level, Test Manager certification from BCS. Continuing their professional development, in 2012, they earned the ITIL Foundation V3 certification from EXIN. In 2013, they obtained the Certified Internal Auditor certification from Inspecta. The most recent certification Juha obtained is the Agile Tester certification from the Finnish Software Testing Board (FiSTB) in 2014.
