Heather Pelton

Heather Pelton has extensive work experience in finance and operations. Heather is currently working as the Director of Finance and Operations at Vala Sciences, a position they have held since October 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Controller and Assistant Controller at Vala Sciences, starting in December 2019 and November 2014, respectively. Before joining Vala Sciences, Heather worked at CS Illumination as a Controller from February 2018 to November 2019. Heather also gained experience as a Finance Intern at La Jolla Playhouse from September 2013 to August 2014. Additionally, they worked as an Office Manager at Include Autism from October 2012 to October 2013. Earlier in their career, Heather served as a Lab Manager at UC San Diego and the Brain & Cognitive Development Lab from July 2009 to April 2012. Heather began their professional journey as an Office Assistant at Pelton Engineering from June 2001 to September 2005.

Heather Pelton has a strong educational background with a focus on finance and accounting. Heather completed their Master of Science in Accounting at San Diego State University from 2014 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Certificate in Business Management with a concentration in Finance from UC San Diego in 2013. In the previous year, they also earned a Certificate in Accounting from UC San Diego. Heather's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science from UC San Diego, which they completed from 2005 to 2009.
