Yolanda F Otero, PhD has a strong background in researching cardiovascular complications associated with obesity and type 2 diabetes. Yolanda has experience in developing mouse models to study the role of glucagon and insulin in nutrient flux and analyzing the relationship between cardiovascular alterations and insulin resistance. In their current role as a Scientific Affairs Manager at Valbiotis, Yolanda coordinates R&D lab activities, manages lab expenses, and provides guidance to the lab team. In previous positions, Yolanda has also studied the adaptations to chronic food restriction and the mechanisms by which myokines modify insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism in type 2 diabetes models.
