Jeff Whitney

Jeff Whitney has over two decades of experience in the mining industry, currently serving as the Manager of Operational Excellence at Vale since September 2002. Throughout the tenure at Vale, Jeff has held several key positions, including Principal Mining Engineer, Business Support Superintendent, and Operations Superintendent for both the Creighton and Coleman Mines. Jeff has also contributed significantly as the Chief Mine Engineer at Creighton Mine, overseeing a technical team of 20-25 staff. Prior to joining Vale, Jeff worked at Barrick Gold Corporation and Teck Resources Limited in various engineering roles. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from Queen's University, earned between 1995 and 1999.
