Silvia Alemany Sierra is a distinguished researcher currently serving as a Miguel Servet researcher and postdoctoral researcher at the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) since December 2020. Prior to this role, Silvia held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) from May 2014 to December 2020 and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Barcelona from May 2013 to April 2014. Silvia began their academic journey as a PhD student at Fundació Bosch i Gimpera from January 2012 to April 2013 and continued as a PhD student at Universitat de Barcelona from January 2008 to December 2011, where the focus was on the Doctoral Programme in Biodiversity. Education includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) obtained from Universitat de Barcelona in 2013, a Master's degree in Human Biology from Universitat de Barcelona completed in 2007, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, awarded in 2006.
