Valley Regional Fire Authority
Brad Thompson has a wealth of experience in the firefighting and emergency response field. Brad began their career in 1999 as a firefighter at the Auburn Fire Department/Valley Regional Fire Authority, where they served for 12 years. During this time, they also held the position of Public Information Officer from 2001 to 2010. In 2011, Thompson joined the Valley Regional Fire Authority, starting as a Fire Captain and later becoming a Battalion Chief. From 2014 to 2018, they took on the role of Planning Captain and also served as a Technical Rescue Specialist from 2013 to 2015. In 2019, Thompson was promoted to Deputy Chief of Operations before assuming the position of Fire Chief in August 2021.
Brad Thompson attended Gonzaga University - School of Business Administration from 1988 to 1991, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a focus on Marketing. In 2018, they enrolled at the University of Washington Tacoma and completed a Certified Public Manager program in 2019. No specific field of study is mentioned for this program.
Valley Regional Fire Authority
The Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) was officially established on January 1, 2007. The VRFA joined existing resources from the Auburn and Pacific Fire Departments to provide fire services to the communities of Algona, Auburn and Pacific. Our organization provides modern, progressive, and professional emergency services to approximately 80,000 citizens residing throughout the 37 square miles of Algona, Auburn, and Pacific. The Valley Regional Fire Authority is comprised of 125 full time staff responds to over 12,800, 9-1-1 incidents yearly.
