Head Of Medical Affairs Austria & Nordics at Valneva

Christoph Jandl's work experience includes roles at multiple companies in the medical and pharmaceutical industry. Christoph began their career at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, where they worked as a Masters Project from February 2010 to March 2011. Christoph then continued their studies at the same institute and served as a PhD student from April 2013 to September 2016. Christoph also worked as a Postgraduate Researcher at the institute from September 2016 to March 2017.

In 2017, Christoph joined The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson as a Medical Information Specialist from October 2017 to May 2018. Christoph then moved on to Valneva, where they held various positions in Medical Affairs. Firstly, they worked as a Medical Science Liaison in Austria from June 2018 to December 2020. Christoph also had a secondment as a Medical Science Liaison in the United Kingdom from September 2019 to December 2019. Following this, they became Head of Medical Affairs for Austria, UK, and Distribution Markets from December 2020 to March 2022, and subsequently Head of Medical Affairs for Austria, UK, and Nordics from March 2022 to November 2023. Currently, they serve as the Head of Medical Affairs for Austria and Nordics at Valneva.

In addition to their positions in the medical and pharmaceutical industry, Christoph also took on the role of Secretary General at ÖVIH starting in April 2021.

Christoph Jandl completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Immunology from UNSW in the years 2013-2016. Prior to that, they pursued Magister studies (equivalent to a joint B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree) in Molecular Biology from the University of Vienna between 2005 and 2012. Christoph also obtained additional certifications including a Leadership & Management Training Course from WU Executive Academy in 2023 and a Project Management Course from Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz in 2017.
