Jessica Zapata

Jessica Zapata has a strong background in data science, knowledge representation, and scientific knowledge base management. Their most recent position was at Valo as a Senior Data Scientist, where they currently hold the role of Knowledge Representation. Prior to that, they worked at NantHealth as a Senior Scientific Knowledge Base Manager from 2020 to 2021. From 2017 to 2020, Jessica served as a Curator at ImmunityBio, and from 2014 to 2017, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Jessica Zapata pursued their education in a diligent and focused manner. Jessica began their academic journey at Universidad de Antioquia from 2001 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology. Following this, from 2008 to 2014, they enrolled as a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidate at the University of California, Santa Cruz, specializing in Molecular and Cell Biology. In June 2020, they obtained a certification in Managing Office Politics from LinkedIn, further enhancing their professional skills.
