Monica Soto-Velasquez

Monica Soto-Velasquez has a diverse work experience in scientific research. Monica is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Valo since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Agios Pharmaceuticals from October 2018 to June 2022, first as a Scientist and then as an Associate Scientist. Before entering the industry, Monica was a Graduate Research Assistant at Purdue University from August 2012 to May 2018, where they were a Ph.D. student in the laboratory of Val J. Additionally, Monica's career started as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where they worked from June 2011 to May 2012 in the laboratory of Ahmed Heikal, Ph.D., Adjunct Professor in Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Monica Soto-Velasquez pursued their education in a linear and disciplined manner. Monica first attended The College of St. Scholastica from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. Subsequently, they joined Purdue University from 2012 to 2018 to further their academic pursuits and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Pharmacology.
