Alex Kagay is a Mechanical Engineering student at Valparaiso University, set to graduate in 2024. Since August 2020, Alex has served as a Laboratory Assistant for ME 333 Measurements, focusing on enhancing micrometer readings with custom 3D printed parts designed for accuracy and repeatability. Additionally, Alex has conducted research at the James S. Markiewicz Solar Energy Research Facility. In the summer of 2022, Alex interned at Snap-on, where contributions included creating a custom testing fixture for high-speed camera analysis to model damping coefficients and developing a cordless polisher from an existing impact wrench, surpassing the performance of competitors.
