Johanna Vesikallio

Johanna Vesikallio serves as the Director of Communications at the Ministry of Finance in Finland since June 2020, focusing on internal and external communications, economic policy messaging, and crisis communication. Previously, Vesikallio was the Head of Communications and Public Affairs at Perheyritysten liitto from August 2017 to June 2020, overseeing communication strategies, stakeholder relations, and event management. Prior experience includes roles as a Host and Journalist at Yle's A-studio, Head of Political News at STT, and Politician Journalist and EU Correspondent in Brussels for the Finnish News Agency STT. Vesikallio's early career included journalism at Helsingin Sanomat, complemented by a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Jyväskylä and a degree in European affairs from the University of Strasbourg.
