Gary Serviss

Gary Serviss, LEED AP, serves as the Southeast Region Environmental Services Director and Managing Director of Environmental Services at VHB since November 1988. With a strong background in environmental oversight, Gary has held significant leadership roles, including Former Chairman of the Sarasota County Environmentally Sensitive Lands Committee from 2005 to 2017 and Chairman of the Sarasota County Coastal Advisory Committee from 2009 to 2016. Gary also directed Sarasota Bay Watch from 2011 until September 2013. Prior experience includes working as a Marine Biologist for Sarasota County Government from April 1984 to November 1988 and as an Environmental Scientist for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection from August 1982 to April 1984. Gary holds an MS in Biological Sciences and a BS in Marine Biology from the Florida Institute of Technology, earned between 1975 and 1982.
