Michaela Garstin

Michaela Garstin is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in media relations and journalism. Currently serving as a Communications Leader at Vancouver Coastal Health since May 2022, Michaela has previously held the position of Communications Advisor and spokesperson for the District of West Vancouver from December 2018 to May 2022. Michaela's journalism career includes roles as Editor at the Squamish Chief newspaper and Editor/Reporter for various Glacier Media and Black Press publications across different locations in British Columbia. Additional experience includes serving as a Media Liaison for Olympic Broadcasting Services and working in access and diversity at The University of British Columbia. Michaela holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from The University of British Columbia and a Certificate in Journalism from Langara College.
