John Whitney

John Whitney has extensive work experience in the field of chemistry. John started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of California, Berkeley. John then worked as an Associate Chemist at the U.S. Department of Energy before becoming a Teaching Assistant at UC Irvine.

Whitney then joined GE Global Research as a Chemist, where they were involved in various projects related to monomer and polymer synthesis. John contributed to the commercialization of ULTEM XHT, a product line.

After this, Whitney transitioned to SI Group, where they held multiple roles. John started as a Lead Chemist and eventually became a Manager, Senior Manager, Director, and Principal Synthetic Chemist. In these positions, they directed the development and commercialization of various rubber additives. John also upgraded a rubber test lab and facilities, managed budgets, and defined strategic projects.

Currently, Whitney works as a Principal Research Chemist at Vanderbilt Chemicals, LLC.

John Whitney earned a Bachelor's Degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 1990. John then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at UC Irvine, completing their studies in 1996. In addition to their academic achievements, John has obtained certifications such as being listed as an Honored Listee by Marquis Who's Who in 2023 and being a Certified Zoho Creator Developer from Zoho in 2014.
