Brian Carlson

Vice President Patient Experience at Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Brian Carlson has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Brian started their career as a Practice Manager at Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation in 1999 and worked there until 2002. After that, Brian joined Olean Medical Group LLP and served as the Chief Operating Officer from June 2002 to December 2005. Brian then became the Chief Executive Officer of the same company from January 2006 to May 2007. Later, Brian joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center and held multiple roles, including Department Administrator/Patient Care Center Director from May 2007 to December 2013, Director of Patient Access from January 2014 to October 2016, and Senior Director of Patient Experience from January 2014 to January 2020. Currently, Brian is working at Vanderbilt University Medical Center as the Vice President of Patient Experience, starting from February 2020.

Brian Carlson holds a Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA) degree from Xavier University. Brian also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Xavier University's Williams College of Business. Additionally, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wittenberg University.
