Associate Vice President Diversity And Inclusion at Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Kristy Sinkfield has a diverse and accomplished work experience. Kristy started their career at Central State University in 2002 as a Special Assistant to the President on Urban Education. In this role, they conducted research and established key relationships for the university president, specifically on the Goodwin v. Taft case related to desegregation stipulations for the Dayton Public School System.

In 2002, Kristy Sinkfield also joined Allen University as the VP of Enrollment Management. During their time there, they developed and implemented a comprehensive enrollment and retention plan, reorganized the admissions office, and managed various departments including the Registrar, Admissions, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Retention, and International Student Affairs.

Since 2004, Kristy Sinkfield has been working at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Kristy initially served as the Team Lead for the VUMC Institutional Review Board. In 2007, they transitioned into the role of Director, Strategy and Innovation. In this position, they exhibited expertise in innovation, partnerships, and collaboration, leading organizations and individuals to develop strategic vision and achieve actionable goals.

Recently, in July 2021, Kristy Sinkfield assumed the role of Associate Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Kristy Sinkfield holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from Lipscomb University, obtained from 1978 to 1981. Kristy later pursued a Master's degree in Education Administration from Cambridge College, completed between 1987 and 1989. Kristy also obtained a Certification in Spiritual Director from Lipscomb University in 2013.
