Aaron Hakimi

Aaron Hakimi is a dedicated student at Vanderbilt University, where significant contributions include founding the Vanderbilt Initiative for Public Health Equality, leading over 300 members to address public health disparities, and establishing a service network for COVID-19 vaccination efforts. As Lead Ambassador for Next Steps, Aaron mentors students with disabilities, promoting equity in various aspects of their lives. Research experience includes roles at Weill Cornell Medicine, focusing on islet beta cell function, and conducting investigations on microglia in a CNS context at Vanderbilt. Additional experience as a volunteer EMS at Vigilant Great Neck Fire Department highlights commitment to community service. Aaron holds a Bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Vanderbilt University.
