Stephen Ornes

Stephen Ornes is an accomplished writer in residence and senior lecturer in science communications at Vanderbilt University since August 2012. With extensive freelance experience since 2006, Stephen has contributed articles to prominent publications such as Discover, Physics World, New Scientist, Scientific American, Science News for Students, and Nautilus. Additional roles include researcher and contributor for Cancer Today magazine, as well as a freelance writer for Science News for Students. Stephen holds a Master's degree in Science Writing from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MS in Applied Mathematics from the University of Missouri-Columbia, alongside a BA/BS in English and Physics from Southern Methodist University.
