Becky Lyons began their career in 2010 as an Academic Advisor at the University of Maryland University College. In 2013, they became a Practicum Student in the Business Study Abroad Office, a Graduate Assistant at the Career Center, and a UNIV101 Co-Instructor at the University of South Carolina. In 2014, they were a Student Advisory Board Member for the Appreciative Education Conference and a Summer Intern in the International Office at the University of Newcastle (UON) in Australia. In 2015, they became an Assistant Director of Admissions and Enrollment Services at George Washington University. In 2017, they became an International Student Services Advisor for the International Accelerator Program at American University. Finally, in 2021, they became a Talent Manager and Senior Recruiter at Vangst, where they conducted full-cycle recruitment and selection processes, partnered with hiring managers and executives, developed job descriptions, sourced and contacted passive candidates, met KPIs on candidate engagement activities, screened resumes and job applications, interviewed and thoroughly vetted candidates, and provided detailed submittals to submit qualified candidates to clients.

Becky Lyons received their Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh between 2006 and 2010. Becky then went on to receive their Master's Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina-Columbia between 2013 and 2015. Becky also holds several certifications, including Appreciative Advising Course, Green Zone Training (Military and Veteran students), InDesign Training, International Friendly Zone, Safe Zone Training (LGBTQ students), Sociology Thematic Cluster Certificate for the Helping Professions, and Webpage Design Training.
