Senior Scientist at Vanqua Bio

Zhiquan Lei has worked in the field of medicinal chemistry since 2008. Zhiquan began their career as a Research Scientist at Shanghai Hengrui Pharma. Co. Ltd. and then moved to Chengdu Chempartner. Co. Ltd. in 2009. In 2014, they were appointed as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Ohio State University, where they designed, synthesized, and characterized functional cavitand materials. In 2020, they joined CMIDD, Northwestern University as a Medicinal Chemist, where they synthesized various complex chemical probes, developed a scalable synthetic route for EZH2 PROTAC, and collaborated with the external scientific community. In 2022, they joined Vanqua Bio as a Senior Scientist.

Zhiquan Lei received their Bachelor's degree in high polymer chemistry from Nankai University between 2001 and 2005. Zhiquan then went on to receive a Master's degree in asymmetric synthesis from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu Institution of Organic Chemistry between 2005 and 2008. Following this, they completed a Joint Degree in transition metal catalyzed C-H/C-C bond cleavage from Peking University and the Chengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences between 2010 and 2014. Finally, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in transition metal catalyzed C-H/C-C bond cleavage from the Chengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014.
