Silvio Tavares

As President & CEO of VantageScore, Silvio Tavares leads the company as a proven financial services and fintech industry senior executive who brings deep experience in financial data and analytics innovation. He also has a proven track record of ESG, inclusion and stakeholder management.

Before Tavares was appointed president & CEO of VantageScore in October 2021, he was Founder, CEO and Chairman of the Digital Commerce Alliance (DCA), a leading global trade association serving the world’s leading banks, fintech and technology companies, including Bank of America, Discover, MasterCard, Microsoft and Klarna, among others. At DCA, Tavares spearheaded the broader use and standardization of card linking technology, which enabled merchants, retailers and consumers to experience more positive payment outcomes by safely and effectively using financial data to elevate industry practices.

Tavares, prior to establishing DCA, was a senior executive at Visa and Fiserv\First Data, where he led data and information products businesses, leveraging financial data to decrease risk for banks and merchants while increasing their revenues.

Tavares is a member of the Forbes Digital Council and a heavily sought-after keynote speaker at financial leadership forums such as Money 20/20, Finnovate and PayThink.

Tavares earned his Juris Doctor degree from Boston University, MBA from Boston College and BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Tufts University. He has authored or co-authored over a dozen patents in financial data analytics.
