Tom Østbø has a diverse work experience in the subsea engineering field. Tom started their career as a Project Engineer at AMEC Process and Energy AS in 1998, where they worked on various control system design and programming projects. Tom then joined ABB Offshore Systems AS (Vetco Gray) in 1999 as a Subsea Control System Engineer, supporting control system-related work for different oilfields. In 2002, they moved to Poseidongroup AS as a Subsea Engineer, where they were involved in subsea project work and had responsibilities in control systems and subsea IMR operations. In 2011, they were contracted into ExxonMobil as a Senior Subsea Engineer, where they supervised refurbishment of subsea and workover equipment and also worked as a Subsea Completions Engineer offshore. Tom joined Point Resources in 2017 as a Subsea Advisor and played a key role in subsea-related projects and operations. Their most recent position is as an SPS Lead for the Balder Future Project at Vår Energi, starting from December 2018.
Tom Østbø attended Stavanger Katedralskole from 1990 to 1993. After completing their studies there, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Newcastle University from 1993 to 1997.
