Patrick Lewis, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Patrick began their career as a Quality Control Manager at Forever Clean in 2003 before working as an Engineering Intern at Case, Lowe & Hart, Inc. the same year. In 2004, they volunteered as a Representative for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before joining Little Giant Solutions in 2007 as a Design Engineer. At Little Giant Solutions, they focused on the design and analysis of ANSI-compliant products. In 2009, Lewis joined Brigham Young University as a Graduate Research Assistant and later became an Engineering Research Team Leader for the Design Exploration Research Group. Patrick also served as a Teaching Assistant for the Mechanical Engineering Capstone program, where they created a program that significantly reduced the time required to create project teams. In 2013, Lewis joined Varian Medical Systems as a Research & Development Engineer III before transitioning to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a Volunteer Ecclesiastical Leader, first as a Bishop and then as a Stake President. In 2017, Lewis joined Varex Imaging Corporation as a Research & Development Engineering Manager, leading programs for the implementation of Liquid Metal Bearings (LMB) into X-ray Sources and directing engineering teams in the development of Advanced X-ray Components Technologies and new X-ray Sources for medical imaging applications.

Patrick Lewis, PhD, completed their education in Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University. Patrick received their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2003 to 2009. Following this, they pursued higher education at the same institution, earning a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2009 to 2010. Patrick then continued their academic journey and obtained a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from 2010 to 2012.

In addition to their academic achievements, Patrick obtained the certification of Fundamentals of Engineering from the NCEES in October 2009. Patrick also achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America, although the specific month and year of this accomplishment were not provided.
