Rosa Avila has a strong background in supply chain management and manufacturing operations. Rosa has held various roles throughout their career, starting in 1992 as a Production Manager at EG&G Reticon. In this role, they successfully managed all aspects of manufacturing for two major product lines, achieved 100% cross-training of personnel, and reduced cycle time by eliminating unnecessary steps.
Avila then joined PerkinElmer in 1995, initially serving as an Operations Manager. Here, they managed all aspects of manufacturing and operations for two major production lines, developed worldwide sales and bookings processes, implemented ISO9000 compliant procedures, and outsourced key processes to subcontractor facilities. Rosa also successfully improved on-time delivery from 40% to 95% and reduced procurement costs by $1 million through PQP initiatives.
Avila continued to excel in their supply chain management career at PerkinElmer, eventually becoming a Supply Chain Manager in 2001. In this role, they were responsible for establishing a worldwide supply chain operation for an Amorphous Silicon Company. Rosa developed systems and suppliers to support revenue ramp from R&D to full production, implemented outsourcing and supply chain strategies in Asia, Singapore, and China, and played a key role in the successful growth of the company.
Most recently, Avila joined Varex Imaging Corporation in 2017 as a Supply Chain Manager and subsequently took on the role of Director of Manufacturing Operations in February 2019. In these positions, they continue to utilize their expertise in supply chain management and manufacturing operations to contribute to the success of the company.
Rosa Avila obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School. No specific start or end year was provided for this education.
