Debanti Sengupta

Debanti Sengupta, PhD, serves as the Sr. Director and Head of Cancer Care Growth Vectors, Strategy and Corporate Development at Varian since June 2018, where responsibilities include leading translational search-and-eval activities, conducting due diligence on high-value targets in molecular diagnostics and targeted therapies, and orchestrating cross-functional investment strategies. Prior roles at Varian involved management of external innovation partnerships and therapeutic innovation, as well as contributions to the regulatory approval process for radiation oncology treatments. Debanti's prior experience includes research scientist roles at Stanford University, where significant work included investigating cancer cell metabolism and authoring funded grants. Debanti holds a PhD in Chemistry/Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University and a BA in Chemistry from Amherst College.
