Gregory Tranah

VP, Medical Biology at Variant Bio

Gregory Tranah is currently the VP of Medical Biology at Variant Bio. Gregory has over three years of experience in the precision medicine field, including strategic planning, fundraising, market assessment, business development, resource allocation and planning, communications and recognition, and biobanking.

Prior to their current role, Gregory was the Executive Director of Precision Medicine at Sutter Health. In this role, they were responsible for developing and overseeing short- and long-term strategic business and research plans, setting objectives for growth and achievement across clinical fields and service lines, establishing a mission and vision in support of system level priorities. Gregory also partnered with internal stakeholders (e.g. philanthropy, patients, physicians) and external industry and academic collaborators, agencies, and foundations to develop funding for high-priority research areas in support of system research priorities.

Gregory has a passion for precision medicine and is dedicated to growing the field through their work at Variant Bio. Gregory is regularly involved in national and international congresses, symposia and related settings to build recognition for the company. Gregory is also responsible for the development, management and oversight of a system-wide tissue biobank.

Gregory Tranah received their PhD in Ecology from the University of California, Davis.
