Elizabeth Wing has a diverse work experience in the field of science and research. Elizabeth started their career as a Lab Assistant at Coastal Carolina University Environmental Quality Lab, where they completed river gauging and assisted with beach monitoring. Elizabeth then worked as a Graduate Teaching/Research Assistant at the University of Rhode Island, teaching and conducting research on greenhouse gas emissions. Elizabeth also had a role as a Research Scientist, where they trained students and analyzed metagenomic data. Elizabeth later joined Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute as a Lead Teacher, where they taught scientific theory and technique to students and developed educational materials. Currently, Elizabeth is working as a Bioinformatics Operations Specialist at Variantyx.

Elizabeth Wing obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Marine Science with a minor in Environmental Science from Coastal Carolina University. Elizabeth attended Coastal Carolina University from 2009 to 2012. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Ecology and Ecosystem Sciences with a focus on Biology and Environmental Science at the University of Rhode Island from 2013 to 2017.
