Shira Modai

Shira Modai has a diverse work experience in the field of genomics. Shira started their career as a Technician at the Functional Genomics Lab in June 2013 and held the role until July 2015. In September 2014, they joined Variantyx as a Clinical Coordinator and worked in that position until April 2016. Shira then took on the role of Director of Clinical Operations at Variantyx from April 2016 to February 2019. From February 2019 to December 2021, they served as the Managing Director of Variantyx Ltd. Currently, Shira holds the position of VP Clinical Genomics at Variantyx.

Shira Modai received their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biotechnology and Food engineering from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology from 2000 to 2004. Shira then pursued a Master's degree in Microbiology and Physiology at Tel Aviv University in the Sackler School of Medicine from 2005 to 2007. Shira continued their education at Tel Aviv University and obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in miRNA and Virology in the Sackler School of Medicine, completing their studies from 2008 to 2014.
