Andrew Wallenstein

Andrew Wallenstein is the co-editor-in-chief at Variety. Andrew has over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, having previously worked as a senior editor, reporter, and on-air host. Andrew has also served as an adjunct professor at the City University of New York.

Wallenstein began their career in 1995 as a reporter for Advertising Age. Andrew then moved on to Gist Communications, where they served as senior editor from 1996 to 1999. In 2002, they joined The Hollywood Reporter as editor of digital media, a position they held for eight years.

In 2010, Wallenstein left The Hollywood Reporter to join ContentNext Media, Inc. as senior editor. Andrew reported on and wrote about the digital entertainment business for just over a year before moving on to their current role at Variety.

As co-editor-in-chief at Variety, Wallenstein oversees all editorial content for the publication. Andrew is responsible for setting the editorial direction of the publication and working with a team of writers, editors, and reporters to produce quality content.

Andrew Wallenstein has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Queens College and a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University - Graduate School of Journalism.
