Viola Strijbis

Viola Strijbis has extensive work experience in the field of healthcare and research. Viola is currently working as an R&D Scientist at VarmX since April 2023. Prior to this, they were a PHD Student at Leiden University Medical Center from March 2018 to March 2023. Viola also worked as a PHD Student at Synapse Research Institute from September 2016 to February 2018. Before their research roles, Viola worked as a Registered Nurse at Evean from June 2007 to August 2016, where they provided healthcare services to patients in their homes. Viola then became a District Nurse at Evean in Amsterdam from 2012 to present, and prior to that, they worked as a District Nurse in Noord-Holland Noord from 2007 to 2012. Additionally, Viola gained research experience through various internships at The Scripps Research Institute in 2015, VU medisch centrum in 2014, and Sanquin in 2013. Viola began their career as a Student Nurse at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA) in September 2005, where they completed internships in orthopedic surgery, neurology, and psychiatry.

Viola Strijbis has a strong educational background in the field of healthcare and research. Viola completed their Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BN) from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences between 2005 and 2009. Following this, they pursued their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biomedical Sciences at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 2010 to 2013. Interested in further specializing in their field, Viola then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Cardiovascular Research at VU Amsterdam from 2013 to 2016.

In addition to their educational achievements, Viola has obtained certifications to enhance their knowledge and expertise. In June 2018, they obtained certification in Article 9 of the Experiments on Animals Act from Leiden University Medical Center. Later, in October 2019, they completed the Brok (basic course on Regulations and Organization for Clinical investigators) from NFU - Nederlandse Federatie van Universitair Medische Centra.
