Mark Johan Wolthuis possesses extensive experience in business development and strategic leadership, particularly within the renewables sector. Currently serving as the Business Development & Strategy lead for Renewables at VARO Energy since November 2018, Mark is focused on transforming the company into a green enterprise and facilitating the transition to zero emissions for clients across various industries. Previously, Mark held notable positions such as Managing Director at Varo Energy Brasil Ltda. and Argos Brasil Ltda., where responsibilities encompassed trading, HR, accounting, compliance, and sustainability. Mark's earlier career includes leadership roles in commodity finance at significant financial institutions such as ING Bank, ABN AMRO Bank N.V., and Banco Real. Mark's educational background includes a master's degree from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and a bachelor's degree in Organisational Psychology from Leiden University.
