Reinout Houttuin

Reinout Houttuin currently serves as the Director of HSSE - Operational Excellence at VARO Energy since July 2022, focusing on risk management and continuous improvement in operational excellence. Previously, from September 2015 to July 2022, Houttuin held the role of Refinery Manager at VARO refining Cressier SA, driving improvements in commercial and safety performance within the refinery. Houttuin also served as Operations Manager, responsible for safe operations, and as Head of Technology, where contributions included safety and commercial enhancements while acting as a management team member. Houttuin’s experience extends to roles at Shell Global Solutions as a Process Technologist and Comprimo as a Senior Process Engineer, where extensive engineering and management expertise was developed. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Chemical Technology from the University of Groningen.
