Sarmad Tahir

Sarmad Tahir has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Sarmad began their career as an Assistant Accountant at Chinar Corporation in 2014 and then worked as a Junior Accountant at Urban Associates in 2016. In 2017, they gained experience as a Finance Intern at the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan and also served as a Teacher Assistant at Roots Ivy University.

From 2017 to 2022, Sarmad worked at S&P Global Market Intelligence, where they held multiple roles. Sarmad started as an Associate, providing support and finance-related research to clients. Sarmad then advanced to the position of Senior Associate, where they coordinated with clients on portfolio analytics and assisted them in developing portfolios relevant to their risk style. Later, they became a Specialist in Investment Management, mentoring and training new team members and providing specialist knowledge on desktop solutions. Finally, they worked as an Account Manager, proactively reaching out to clients to ensure satisfaction and identifying new opportunities for them.

In 2022, Sarmad joined Vartana as a Manager in the Credit Risk department, where they analyzed financial data, evaluated credit documents, and performed risk assessments on potential credit recipients. Sarmad then transitioned to the role of Team Lead, overseeing a team of underwriters, providing training and development, and spearheading quality assurance for the department.

Sarmad Tahir is a CFA Level 2 Candidate who obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from Oxford Brookes University in 2018. Prior to that, Sarmad was an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Affiliate from 2015 to 2018. Sarmad also completed a Foundation degree in Accounting and Business/Management from ACCA from 2015 to 2017. In 2011, Sarmad completed O Levels - IGCSE in Sciences from the University of Cambridge. Additionally, Sarmad has obtained several certifications including Alpha Factors Library from S&P Global in 2019, Credit Analytics from S&P Global Ratings in 2018, and Capital IQ Terminal from S&P Global Market Intelligence in 2017. Sarmad also achieved the CFA Level 1 certification from CFA Institute.
