Amy Beth Holmes is a dedicated educator with extensive experience in science and agriculture. Currently serving as a CTE Science and Foods Teacher at Vashon Island School District since August 2018, Amy teaches 7th grade CTE physical science and Global Foods. Previous teaching roles span across several institutions, including science instruction at various grade levels and specific focuses on physics, biology, geological, and physical sciences. Alongside teaching, Amy owns Holmestead Farms, where responsibilities include maintaining a historic orchard and raising grass-fed Katahdin sheep. Amy also has significant experience in agricultural planning and conservation, having worked as a Local Agriculture and Land Use Expert at Farmstead Consulting and as a Resource Specialist with King Conservation District. Academic credentials include a Master of Education with a focus on Inquiry-Based Science from the University of Washington, along with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Sciences and Ecology from Drake University.
