Ken Shields

Ken Shields serves as the Sr. Director of Business Development at Vast since August 2025, focusing on developing commercial business platforms in space to support human spaceflight missions. Prior experience includes roles such as Director of Commercial Market Development and Sr. Director of Business Development at Sierra Space from November 2021 to August 2025, and VP and Chief Operating Officer at ISS National Laboratory between September 2018 and June 2021. Ken also held various positions at the Center for the Advancement of Science In Space (CASIS), including Director of Operations and Senior Project Manager, from 2012 to 2018. Prior to that, Ken was the President and General Manager at Port of Fort Pierce, Inc. from September 2006 to December 2011. Ken Shields earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus on Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from the University of Tennessee.
