Kohl Hertz is a skilled propulsion engineer with experience in leading technical development projects and optimizing production processes. Currently employed at VAST, Kohl previously worked at SpaceX, focusing on Raptor avionics and manufacturing engineering. At UC Irvine, Kohl served as a lead researcher, developing a gait rehabilitation device for paralyzed patients in collaboration with Dr. Reggie Edgerton and securing funding through UCI’s Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). Additional experience includes roles as a manufacturing engineer at Confluent Medical Technologies, where Kohl improved production efficiency using Lean Six Sigma principles, and as a mechanical design engineer at KTI HYDRAULICS, INC., where Kohl successfully drove the development of new hydraulic products. Kohl holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from UC Irvine and an Associate of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Irvine Valley College.
