Katie Layton

Katie Layton is a propulsion engineer with extensive experience in aerospace engineering. Currently serving as Propulsion Engineer II at Relativity Space since February 2023, Katie focuses on the Aeon-R Thrust Chamber Assembly Test. Previous roles at Relativity Space include Propulsion Development Engineer I and Product Development Engineering Intern, where contributions included integrated vehicle checkouts for the Terran 1 launch. Additional experience includes serving as Flight Dynamics System Lead at Texas Spacecraft Laboratory and internships at Hermeus, Firefly Aerospace, and Texas Rocket Engineering Lab, where Katie led design and systems engineering for key aerospace structures. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
