Thomas Olander has had a diverse work experience. Thomas began their career as a Sales Manager at Park System AB, where they worked from 2002 to 2005. Thomas then joined Schweers Technologies as a Region Sales Manager from 2005 to 2007. Following that, they worked at Hogia-gruppen in various roles, including Sales Director, Managing Director, and Sales Manager for Hogia Byggsystem, from 2007 to 2014. Olander then moved on to CAE Value AB, where they served as the Sales Director from 2014 to 2016. Thomas later became the CRM Manager at Fastighets AB Balder, working there from 2016 to 2018. Most recently, Olander has been working at Västtrafik as the Head of Department - IT Customer Information since 2018. At this position, they are involved in the transformation of the IT department towards agile principles and focuses on creating value for customers and partners. Thomas also acts as a coach for product owners and employees in their department and collaborates with other departments to prioritize value creation. Additionally, Olander has experience as a Product Manager CRM at Västtrafik, where they worked from 2018 to 2023, driving the development of customer relationships.

Thomas Olander completed their education history with a Master's degree in Information Technology from the University of Borås, which they pursued from 1996 to 2000. Before that, they attended the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg from 1994 to 1995, where they studied statistics. Thomas also attended Polhemsgymnasiet, a 4-year technical senior high school, from 1988 to 1992, specializing in VVS (Ventilation, Heating, and Sanitation). In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification as a Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) from the Scrum Alliance in June 2021.
