Brendan Smith

Brendan is the Director of Manufacturing at Vatn Systems, where he leads the development and execution of the company’s manufacturing capabilities and is responsible for scaling AUV production from early prototypes through full rate, vertically integrated operations. He is an experienced advanced technologies leader with a proven track record of turning developmental programs into robust, high throughput production lines. Prior to Vatn, Brendan was central to the commercialization and high rate build out of the Boston Dynamics Spot and Stretch robot programs as Head of Production. Earlier in his career, he executed a major production surge on the Patriot radar line at Raytheon, supported the F135 engine program at Pratt & Whitney, and gained his earliest manufacturing exposure in his family’s performance race car business. Brendan holds a BS from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and an MBA from Babson College.
