Mary Hanson

Mary Hanson has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Mary began their career as a Medical Director at Advogent Group (formerly Cardinal Health) in February 2004, where they worked until January 2008. Mary then joined Merck & Co, Inc as an Associate Director of Scientific Affairs from January 2008 to August 2015, before being promoted to Director of Global Scientific & Medical Publications, Global Clinical Development, where they worked until November 2021. Mary then joined Vertex Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Director from November 2021 to October 2023. Currently, Mary is serving as the Senior Director of Clinical Medical Writing at Vaxcyte, starting from October 2023.

Mary Hanson has a PhD in Biological Structure and Neuroscience from the University of Washington. Mary also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology from the same university. Prior to their university education, Mary earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in General Studies from Clark Community College. In addition to their academic achievements, Mary has obtained various certifications, including Jodi Glickman's "Pitching Yourself" course from LinkedIn, Sheryl Sandberg and Adam Grant's "Building Resilience" course from LinkedIn, executive presence training for women from LinkedIn, succession planning course from LinkedIn, executive presence development course from LinkedIn, Open Water SCUBA Diver certification from PADI, and a Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute.
