Mary Hawkins has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of art direction, motion graphics, animation, and design. Mary has worked as a Title Designer and Motion Graphics artist for Kokomo City, where they designed internal motion graphics segments and titles for a film. Mary also worked as a Freelance Art Director and Motion Graphics artist for Rising Tide Interactive and VaynerX. In 2002, they started their own freelance venture as an Art Director, Animator, and Designer. In 2016, they founded a direct-to-consumer stationery brand called "Mary Likes Postcards" where they design and sells supplies for volunteers to get out the vote.

Mary has also worked as a Motion Graphic Designer for Collective Agency, where they created social animations and graphics for various livestreams and social good projects. Mary Hawkins has a diverse education history. Mary attended Phillips Academy from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a commendation diploma in Art and English. Following this, they enrolled in New York University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the Tisch School of the Arts, Department of Design, from 1996 to 2001. Subsequently, they continued their education at New York University and earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in CADA (Digital Imaging and Design) in 2002. Furthermore, Mary Hawkins obtained a certification in Intermediate Illustration and Design Frame Creation (Illustration for Motion) from the School of Motion in June 2023.
