Johan Smeets

Johan Smeets is an accomplished Electronic System Architect at VDL Enabling Technologies Group (ETG) since September 2016, with prior experience as a Mechatronic System Designer at SEGULA Technologies, where expertise included the design and analysis of high-tech motion systems. Johan contributed to Bright Society as a member from September 2016 to June 2017. Academic achievements include a PhD and research at Eindhoven University of Technology from December 2009 to August 2015, focusing on contactless energy transfer systems integrated with iron-cored planar motors. Johan's earlier projects include a master graduation project at TNO designing a rotary transformer, and a traineeship at Kungliga Tekniska högskolan researching winding failures in traction motors. Educational qualifications include an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, both from Eindhoven University of Technology.
