Anne Martel

Faculty Affiliate at Vector Institute

Anne Martel is a highly accomplished academic and industry professional with extensive experience in medical physics and digital pathology. Currently serving as a Professor at the University of Toronto and a Faculty Affiliate at the Vector Institute since June 2018, Martel also holds the position of Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder at Pathcore Inc., a company specializing in digital pathology software. Additionally, Martel has been a Senior Scientist at Sunnybrook Research Institute since 2009 and has been involved with the Medical Biophysics department at the University of Toronto since 2003, where Martel progressed from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor. Previously, Martel worked as the Principal Physicist at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, where an Image Processing Laboratory was established. Martel holds a BSc Hons in Physics from King's College London and a PhD in Medical Physics from The University of Sheffield.
