Farzad Khalvati is a senior scientist and endowed chair in medical imaging and artificial intelligence at The Hospital for Sick Children since March 2020, where also serves as director of the Intelligent Medical Informatics Computing Systems (IMICS) Lab. Concurrently, Farzad holds the position of associate professor at the University of Toronto across several departments including Medical Imaging and Computer Science since December 2014. Farzad has been involved with various institutions such as the Vector Institute (faculty affiliate since January 2021), TECHNA Institute (affiliate scientist from August 2019 to July 2022), and Mount Sinai Hospital (staff scientist from December 2017 to February 2020). Prior roles include junior scientist and research associate at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and senior scientist and chief technology officer at Segasist Technologies. Farzad Khalvati completed a PhD and MASc in Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo and a BSc at the University of Tehran. Additionally, Farzad received an International Certificate in Translational Medicine from the EUREKA Institute for Translational Medicine in April 2022.
