Kat Traxler

Kat Traxler is a Principal Security Researcher at Vectra AI, specializing in public cloud security and guiding product direction through threat landscape analysis. With experience as an IANS Faculty member and the lead author of the SANS SEC549 Cloud Security Architecture course, Kat has made significant contributions to cybersecurity education. Previous roles include cloud security research at TrustOnCloud and principal security researcher at Vectra AI, where core detection logic for AWS CDR products was architected. Kat also has a background in cloud security engineering at Best Buy, bridging experience in web application penetration testing and security architecture. Additionally, Kat's leadership extends to community involvement as an organizer for DEFCON 612 and former president of the Minnesota Builders Exchange. Kat holds a Full Stack Software Engineering Certification from Prime Digital Academy.
