Emad Badawi

Emad Badawi is a seasoned technology leader specializing in product, application, and data security, currently serving as Tech Lead at Veem since April 2021. In this role, Emad focuses on product security, security architecture, and secure partner integrations, while also establishing CI-CS-CD practices with DevSECOps. Emad's experience includes developing security monitoring systems, implementing security controls, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents. Additionally, Emad has a rich history in academia and research, having served as a Data Scientist at the University of Ottawa, a Visiting Researcher at IBM, and a Research and Teaching Assistant at the American University of Sharjah. Emad holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Ottawa, alongside a Master’s degree from the American University of Sharjah and a Bachelor’s degree from Arab American University.
